HSA Research Grant: £9,700

This study aims to assess the impact of training on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of abattoir workers in two major slaughterhouses in Narok County, Kenya. Training workshops will be conducted on animal handling and welfare at slaughter. A pre and post training assessment will be done using questionnaires and results from both assessments compared. This will prospectively give a lead on whether training is the next significant step towards promoting animal welfare in Narok County.
