HSA 2017 Special Travel Award (up to £10,000)

The HSA seeks to help those involved in improving animal welfare during transport, marketing
or at slaughter to gain new expertise and knowledge which contributes to better animal welfare.

To support this aim the HSA is making funds of up to £10,000 (in total) available to support travel
and subsistence expenses for short-term, technical and/or scientific visits to appropriate,
institutions and/or commercial operations.

These travel award(s) will allow the successful applicant(s) to visit a centre, or centres, of excellence
or expertise to further their technical knowledge and/or to foster scientific collaboration. The award
may be used to support multiple visits within a specific country or region during a single trip.
The award will cover reasonable travel and subsistence expenses up to a maximum of £10,000.

How to apply

Applicants should complete the HSA 2017 Special Travel Award application form. The application
should include:

 

  • plans to disseminate expertise gained during the travel
  • contact details of two referees familiar with the applicant and letters of agreement, if appropriate

This award is now closed.


The aim will be to notify applicant(s) by the middle of February 2017.
